台灣在前列腺研究中投入了較大的人力、物力和財力，從早期只能做簡單的研究到現在涉及各方面的研究，譬如臨床用健保資料庫大數據做一些分析等，臨床試驗在台灣態勢非常蓬勃，水準與美國同步。此外，關於前列腺癌惡化、前列腺炎治療阻抗性出現機制等的基礎研究，基因及基因多型性對前列腺癌惡化、發生及危險性的轉移醫學研究也在如火如荼進行中。
